Personally.. it is YOUR life... not theirs... If you truly love him.. follow your hears... (if he is good to you and loves you back)
Oh bless your heart you have to live for yourself no one else. If you truly love this person then be with him. This person does feel the same way about you right? If so then you be with the person that makes you happy.
